From the very beginning of your child’s education, we have high expectations of his/her behaviour and achievements in school.

We endeavour to install in the children that good manners, consideration for others and courtesy, are very important qualities.

Throughout all activities in school the Staff ensure equal opportunities both of gender or race.

Every parent wants to know how his or her child is progressing.

The National Curriculum provides attainment targets in each subject that sets out what the pupil should know, understand and be able to do.

In class, the teacher will assess your child’s work throughout each term.

There are also "Standards Tests and Tasks" at the end of each key stage. Each attainment target has 10 levels which covers Key Stage 1 to 3. Your child will start towards level 1 and climb as high as they can during their time at school. They may progress at different rates in different subjects or in different areas of the same subject.

Children are taught in both single and mixed age classes with class teachers catering for differing abilities within each class.

The member of staff with responsibility for Special Educational Needs liaises closely with class teachers and individual work/programs of study are provided for children with particular needs in any area of the curriculum.

At the beginning of every term a curriculum information letter is sent home. To request a copy of this term’s curriculum letters go to the Letters page

This details what topics or aspects of the National Curriculum or Foundation Stage (as appropriate) are going to be covered that term.

We do our best to ensure that parents are well informed about the curriculum.

We also organise Curriculum Evenings that focus upon a particular subject, to provide additional information for parents.
